I received the led’s and got all the rest of the parts and designed the circuitry but I haven’t found a spare set of tail lights
So once I find a set it’s a matter of a couple of days to complete the prototype

I think someone was supposed to help me out and send me a set tail lights but didn’t in the end

right, resurrecting this thread. had a brainwave or a chav mod!
we all know this isnt going to be made but i take it its possible to put a light into the hatch clusters - yes.

then can we not use some kind of sticker/cover (covering most of the lens leaving just the outer part of the lens visible, so only the light coming thru makes it look like the audi a3 ones) or is this a truly pathetic idea

I love these lights, wanting!!! your idea just may work but would have to be heat resistant!

Actually this is going to be made!!!

problem is I couldn’t find a spear set of used rear lights to build a prototype I am still looking for a set, and the two people on text that where supposed to send me a pair in exchange for a kit never did so

Could you not just put a brass copper contact thing on the side of both lamps( were the boot closes) to transfer the live and for the negative splice into it on the light

Yeah the old mk2 astras had a brass contact like that on the boot.

Tempted to send my spare lights and let them do mine

if you really want this look it is not that much work to run a cable over the boot

It probably isn't mate but I was thinking that it would be a way around it if a lighting manufacturer I.e ultra decided to make it!

Hoped up into loft and found them it is 3 the 2 inners are fine but the outer's lense is cracked and damaged - dont know if this is still any use. Let me know if you want these as said just need to pay postage and a deal on a kit once made.

sorry but nope would look way to chav and atleast the idea that Talx has and the pictures at the start is how he plans to get them looking makes it look more oem and not like adding go faster stripes over your roof and bonnet.
