Mine was replaced recently by a dealer but it still feels exactly the same - jerky and very heavy. Doesn't feel like it's even been touched but it's definately a new cable. Haven't done many miles on it since so I thought maybe it needs to bed in or something, but other than that I don't know what the problem is?!

After getting out of the ibiza into other cars i drive i almost put my left foot through the floor every time i change gear!

(two of those cars are toyotas though and everything has that silky smooth efficient feeling :p)

not really sure mate but its light and easy.

im not that clued up cos its my first car

i plan to get a tdi will that also be like mine?

yeah should be on both - the diesels got the hydraulic system that the gearbox was designed for originally

Gti's etc got a bodged up right angle lever that went to the front bracket- then over the top - then up - then across - then down another right angle

all using a 6ft long cable with a self adjuster spring loading it too

you can see why they are a pain now :):)
