abf turning but wont fire

the new engine is in but it turns but wont fire any ideas ?

so far stu has changed everything off my engine to the other one including coil pack ,

any one local with a dyno ? any help greatfully receaved

check the engines getting fuel?

well its deffinatley getting fuel to the fuel rail

they both on the right way round ? wouldn't be the first to do it

plugs wet ? got a spark ?

that was the first thnig he checked and double checked mate , no there are fine but there doesnt seem to be any spark , just tried easy start but that didnt work

right stu replaced the ecu relay and now she is firing and dying so this must a ecu fault ?

the immobiliser is te origional off my car we have tried the one off the doner car with its chip and it is doing exactly the same

i would of said immobiliser too, when you say revs, does it cut out if it revs over idle?

deffinitely immobiliser related...
try as a temporary fix, shorting the fuel pump so its got a constant ground and a constant live and then crank it, itll start and run then to confirm its the immobiliser system

id say immoboliser since its all been out disconnected and the rest of it.

i have a snap on solus fault code reader, however i dont know how much it will tell you, and im down Reading until Friday. :/

Having a scorpion alarm / immobilizer on mine, mine sometimes doesn't cancel properly, and switch itself off, thus not switching on the fuel pump, so it starts, then cuts out. Most definitely the immob!

midlands vw kindley leant us a coil pack to try but it made no difference , we thought the crank sensor mate at first when it would turn but not fire but now it is firing but dying so maybe not that ?

i still think immobiliser problem lol

my causin came down with his code reader but it wouldnt let him into the engine part , something to do with because the engine hasnt run there is nothing to read but if u are availabe after you get back anything is worth a try mate

the problem now is mids vw cant get her in untill next saturday

Can you not take the crank sensor off your old engine, put on this engine, see if it does the trick.

Worth a try I guess?
