Abs and traction help!

i recently had the traction control light and abs light appear on my dash, i replaced what i thought was a dodgey abs sensor, which took the lights off for about half an hour, any suggestions what the problem can be??

I have the same problem, my dealer has told me its the bearing causing the problem and it would cost me £300 to replace. The initial inspection showed that there was corrosion on both the sensor and the bearing which after cleaned turned the light off, but only for about 2 days, now its back on.

il have to check its not my bearing away, as theres a slight grinding noise on full lock almost like the disc is warped, yet its fine, 300 for a bearing seems very steep, im completely lost here as the car drives fine apart from the lights on the dash :/

How did you come to the conclusion that the sensor was faulty?

these lights apear with me now and again, after mentioning to Seat at my service, they said they had the diognostics plugged in or whatever and no faults were reported. i usually turn my car off and on again then they dissapear

sounds like the dials could even just be faulty :/

just found my load cable was snapped too, soldered and fixed the wires, the only difference now is the battery light now works before the car starts, but the traction and abs are still there, even tried disconnecting the battery etc... may just have to get the codes read, running out of ideas of what it could be :/

You need to be getting the codes read really, there are too many potential reasons for a warning lamp illuminating to just guess at what it might be..

But at least you've sorted the broken wires hey!

just noticed after fixing the load wire, the car now beeps three times when accelerating hard, and the handbrake light flashes, i havent had a chance to get down to any garage to get the codes read so anymore suggestions would be most welcome as its doing my head in lol

If the car is making a noise when the wheel is turned and is a metal on metal noise, it will most likely be the brakes grinding probably due to a dodgy wheel bearing....

As for the light on the dash it is really common for the steering wheel position sensor to go, that will trigger the light to come on. - might be worth checking out!

I got mine fixed today, was nothing to do with the bearing like they suggested, just replaced the speed sensor and the lights went off!
