ABS Light

Hi guys just wondered if anyone could help me. My ABS light comes on sometimes but then wont for ages. I went for a drive today probbaly around 50 mile and it didnt come on once. Then i nipped down to tesco which is like 2 mile away and it comes on. It comes on randomly. I have changed all the discs and pads they are brand new. I also checked the ABS rings and they look fine. Checked all the wiring to the sensors and they are all fine also. Im being told its one of the sensors?? Do you think this is right and how do i identify which one it is? thanks

to tell if it needs a sensor vag com will tell you. mines went n vag com told me it was the n/s/f abs sensor. the only way i think otherwise it would be trial and error i suppose.

Try cleaning the sensors. Get a jet wash behind the wheels and give them a good seeing to. If the light is coming randomly, chances are its just dirt on the sensors.

what krishen said, vagcom will just say its shagged but its probably fine, just needs cleaning

i had the same problem bud and i jus gave am a good old blast with the jetwash like the lads off here said and its worked spot on!

Check multiplug on abs module. Suffer from water ingress and terminals go green and yuck!
