Does anyone find that on the ibiza esp cupras you need to press the pedal quite far down before you get the power. Is there way of adjusting this?

probably just that you've started the car with your foot on the throttle, and you need to do a throttle body alignment.....

I should of mentioned its a diesel cupra so doesnt have a throttle body. What I mean is that i have to push the accelerator pedal quite far down before I get the power??? Is this normal?

From the sound of it, you are just talking about lack of response at low revs.....so you stick your foot further down and once you get to ~1800rpm off you go with a whooosh?

Do you get the same thing if you are in 2nd at 30mph and plant your foot? Could just be a bit of turbo lag?

this thread sounds a bit odd, the cupra tdi is normally very good with low down torque and power at low revs

you sure the clutch isn't slipping :( or is it that you seem to have slack in the go pedal

there is no cable with this pedal as it is drive by wire but may need calibrating like MORK says

I have just been looking at the accelerator pedal and there seems to be a white strip of plastic that you can move to a different position. What is this?

it's for the potentiometer and dont adjust it you probably need to do a throttle sweep test

Sounds like turbo lag, the turbo has to sppool up before it will deliver full boost! Slowly feed in a bit of power and then give it full beans, this will help you get round it!
