on the leon its a similar job, mine had an unhealthy click before it took up the slack, tightened to 2 clicks and no more noises, you need to equally tighten both sides of the cables.

again, not sure about the ibiza, but on the leon there is a few screws on the middle console behind the actual handbrake on the sides towards the carpet.

The handbrake is supposed to self adjust - you should be able to sort it by pulling the handbrake a few times whilst your foots on the brake I think

good info mine needs doing as its going up to far before biting will try this over this weekend!

iv read elsewhere and from the reply above that puttin your foot on the brake then lifting the handbrake adjusts it, but how can this be surely by now everyone handbrake would be really tight, i put my foot on footbrake then use the handbrake everyday nearly??

mine felt great after doing disks and pads on rear but after few days went back to how it was again

if its got disks on the rear then hand brake off and pump the pedal 8-10 times with the engine off then you get a good handbrake

you shouldnt adjust the handbrake at the handle on Mk4 /leons so i have been told ( seat tech)

the handbrake as said is self adjusting , everytime you apply the handle it tightens up , if you tighten it at the handle the calipers can sieze ,

when you find it going slack its time for new pads/discs
