Adjusting the brake lightswitch on a LCR

Hi everyone,

Im looking for a bit of help please. I brought a 55plate LCR about a month ago now but have just noticed when i brake i have to press it hard and along way down before the brake lights comes on. So at the moment the lights are only coming on if im braking very hard, so most of the time it isnt coming on with normal braking.

Now i know on my motorbikes i can adjust the brake switch so it comes on sooner or later. Is there some sort of adjustment on the LCR that i can do to make the brake lights come on sooner when the brake pedal is pressed? Or where is the brake light switch located?

I thought i would try on here first and see if i can do it myself before going to a garage and letting them touch my car!

Cheers.

would try searching m8, think its been covered a few times before. i got the same problem at the minute, switch is faulty. they can't be adjusted, just need to replace it. it's only a few quid i think and is located at top of brake pedal somewhere i think.

Surrey darling...
I had this exact problem and posted a thread about it a week or so ago...

I went to a Seat service centre and had it sorted under warranty - took all of 30 minutes! I too wasn't keen on letting it go near another workshop but tbh I didn't have the time to do it myself and now I'm glad I went in as I got them to sort out a couple of other niggles I had with my 55 plate :D

You can do it your self and to get at the switch you have to take the lower part of the dash off... thats all I know but I'm sure a quick search will pull up all the info you need.
