who in your point of view should i get to do remap for me?
got had off by type r today and wasnt amused! [:@] :censored: :help:

Main choices are:
REVO: Fairly agressive map, RR plots do tend to show quite a rough curve.
APR: Don't know much about these, altho one of the Kent boys tried their 6hr trial & loved it.
Custom-Code: Smoother power curve, said to be the most like a std car (just with more power)

Note: CC have a 30% discount running at the moment, and you're only about 2hrs from the Master Dealer .. JBS @ Chesterfield.

Note: Try not to be too tempted by the 6hr trials available, as they don't actually reset back to your OE map, it resets to a REVO/APR version. People have had trouble in the past getting a different map after one of these 6hr trials.

I personally am getting a CC map, as I've heard nothing but praise for the company!
It is purely down to what you read, and how you want the car to react for you.

Only real advise I can give you is trawl thru the forum and see what people have said about the various maps...

Not sure why people have a revo trial, there's a 30 day money back guarantee anyway.

My Revo is great, but I'm sure they are all good. I'm assuming you have a LC petrol? If so a remap should help you heep a type R honest in a straight line

I think you need to be very careful what you say mate as you are accusing REVO and APR 2 very well respected and very large company's of purposely restricting your car and that can get you in to a lot trouble i know that a couple of ppl had trouble with REVO but not everybody who had the trail just some and i haven't heard of any with APR

And remember this is all your OPINION and you are obviously swayed by CC who i don't rate at all.

I would personally recommend a custom map everytime NOT generic considering the cost of REVO. I personally have a Revo map that came on the car and am getting it changed for a smooth Jabba map with a boost controller.

i got a c-c remap on fri and its wicked ...alot stronger...only prob is a coil packs gone and i cant get hold of 1 till tue : (

I'm only repeating what I was told by someone who has installedvarious types of maps.

No aspersions have been casted again any 1 company, all I have said is that the 6hr trial maps don't revert back to the cars OE map, they revert to an OE version.

I will accept that I cannot confirm this is the case for APR as well as REVO, but if you think about it logically, when you get your ECU flashed it essentially overwrites the OE map with a new one...there isn't space to keep a copy of the original on the ECU, so the trial map can only revert/restrict back to an OE equivalent.

If you read threads on here you will see peoples comments about problems after a trail, and subsequent maps from other sources.

At the end of the day you choose your own supplier governed by what they tell you, testimonials, and word of mouth on a multitude of forums / websites.

If you've had no issue with REVO then feel free to voice that opinion, as I have about the information I am privy to!

On a lighter note, interested on reasons why you don't like C-C...before I take the plunge...

thanks very much for your input peeps.
looks like i got alot of reading to do.

You also need to decide what you want from the map.

For example, do you need to be able to turn the map off for servicing reasons ?

:)

i dont know, do i???
why might i have to do that?
as if i didnt have enough to think about already!!!

Some people don't want mechanics ragging their motors on test drives, therefore the ability to turn the map off would be very useful.

if its under warranty and you get an engine fault some stealers might try and worm their way out by blaming it on a Remap!

 ohhh i get you!
shes getting on a bit now so wont have to worry about warrantee and the guy that does it for me is a mate, so alls gud there.
ta chaps. :funk:

I'll be careful what i say about custom code but my experience is as follows i bought a lc with all the stage 2 mod's on and cc so i thought that it was as good as it gets was running 22 psi which is quite a lot for a k03s so went to awesome gti and got a beta version of apr stage 2 and the difference was like night and day and running 17 psi so you can understand why i'm not very impressed with cc it's all a bit slap dash for me to much boost imho.
