Why not go back to the garage who fitted the control unit and fans and say you are not happy and that the repair you paid for is substandard? it may after all be an install problem or surely they should be persuing Eurocarparts on your behalf if the parts are faulty?
Otherwise as I said ask Eurocarparts for a refund under the sale of goods act as they are not fit for purpose could be an option.
well its a bit difficult as the work was done through family who have a known garage down here. and the car was in a few times after i got it back, but they couldnt find nothing wrong with it, but as all of you know, you cannot tell when your LCR fans come on and go off. but in mine you CAN.. which is the problem.
I dont want to go back to them, as the fans are doing what they are supposed to be doing, just not as they should be. can anyone recommend a nearby garage who could help?
OK I would say you have a couple of choices really.
1 Take car back to Garage who done work and go on a test drive with one of there techs or let the car warm up and let it fault in front of them.
2 Talk to Eurocarparts but you will need proof of purchase and if you paid through the other garage you will not have this. I work in the motor trade and I think the most they will do is offer you another set but you will have to push them. I am pretty sure the warranty on parts will not cover labour cost incurred.
3 Refit your old fans and take the chance but if the fan ecu was at fault this should be ok.
4 Be 100% sure and buy new fans from a Seat dealer try and get yourself a deal be upfront and ask for a bit of discount. Maybe a VW dealer will be cheaper if you can find the part number.
One things for sure when you deal with the garage or Eurocarparts you will have to stand your ground as all they will see it as is hassel and probably won't be to keen to help.
Stealthracing is close yes, mind you, only ever been there for REVO mapping on my old mk4 1.8T Golfs .. never used them for mechanics or anything. might give them a buzz.
andy w cheers mate, I was thinking about taking the plunge and putting the old fans back in, but i know th labour is going to sting me. wondering if theres anyone who could help me ??? as Im no mechanic by a long shot lol.
