Aftermarket products developed on your car

Is it a good idea to let companies who make aftermarket products, such as exhausts, brake kits, intercoolers fuel pumps etc borrow your car to develop their products.

What are the pro's and cons?

You'd definately want something out of it so what should you expect to get in return for letting them use your pride and joy?

Plus how long would they need your car for? If it's a long time should you expect a courtsy car?

Obvioulsy this must happen all the time I can't see tuning companies buying each individual car so they can then develop parts.
