Aftermarket rear light??

realistically, it SHOULD (term used lightly) be just a case of swapping the live wires to each bulb over, and maybe changing the bulb colour
hmmm think I will have to look at the wiring to the rear lights sometime (oh how I love taking that boot panel off!) see what can be done then keep harrasing these German sites to see if I can buy some! Would be so chuffed if I could pull this off!
im just not a fan of the cupra ones, and especially as my rear end now looks like this VVVVV then id prefer some black ones
yes I agree my car is an FR, same silver backed lights, I thought the cupra ones were differnt but they are not, I saw at a meet they are definetly the same.
I have also got black side repeators and think the lights would finish it off nicely!
They would look good with your S boot badge and if you had dark coloured wheels on your car would look good with that too!

does that work as two fog lights then? or a red reverse light?
i read earlier it isnt illegal if you dont have a reverse light? that true?

It would work as a Red reversing light (as its in the same reverse light position).
If you are driving your car on a public road - its ILLEGAL !
Also what happens if you are reversing somewhere (say out of your garage), and someone gets confused cos they see a bright Red light and not a White light, as you reverse - and have a crash - Insurance company would love that (not!). Wouldnt go down too well.
Best bet, keep your original light unit(s) spare, then fit them back on your car just for your MOT - so the lights look OE, then put your custom Red units back on the car again after you get home, for rest of year
Fog lights are a neccessity. It is LAW.
Reverse lights ARE NOT needed. It is NOT a law that you need them. They are a courteous thing. Can't think of the word. It's legal not to have a reverse - just helps others if you have one.

I saw these on ebay ages ago and when I sent the lad a message he said he'd got them from the dealers when he ordered his car and they do look really like the standard ones, also the reverse light is on the correct side so I wonder where he got them! I lost the bid and he didn't reply to any more messages.

I think the red ones look better on your car mate, the silver/grey would blend in too much with the colour of the car IMO?
