ahhhh, broken wiper linkage...

Well, tried fitting my new aero wipers...
using the old hammer on the spindle to loosen the old arms...
DISASTER

Bashed the threads so the bolts won't go back on.
So now i need a new linkage, any ideas if the linkage is seperate to the wiper motor...don't wan't any unnesscary expense.

I HATE CARS

try carefully filing the top of the thread into a taper to remove the mushroomd top and then the nuts may catch on the good thread below

in future just loosen the nuts a few turns and then tap it

or try a brakers yard as I think the polo/fabia linkage should fit

New wipers come with new nuts dont they?

My rear one did.

you can re-thread it though using a tapping set.

if you can get them out it maybe cheaper this way

Blades and arms are required, - but are on back order from the seat factory they say around 10 days

woohoo, all sorted. Had to angle the pass wiper arm up so it doesn't catch on the A pillar.
