air filter help

Hey

i really need someone to find me an air filter and explain how to fit to a mk4 52 plate ibiza.

dont want to spend anymore than £40 but its confusing the hell out of me

please send me some links and give me some help on fitment

ive removed engine cover, i no where a cone one would fit but there is 2 wires which go into it and i dont know how you would fit these or where onto a new air filter lol

i no the 57i induction kit fits but its more like £70 for that and tbh i just want this for half a year or so then full exhaust

jsut want a cone air filter to make some noise really.

but yer anymore help/advise would be great.

Sorry i haven't done it yet ;) i just remember hearing people saying about the engine cover so thought I'd let you know in case you hadn't already done that :)

What engine is it? 1.2, remove the engine cover and the induction kit goes straight on.

just chuck a 20 quid halfrauds special on my car seams to be running spot on with one on

is there holes or bits to put the 2 bits of piping on that attach to original engine cover/air filter or are these not needed???

induction kits are alot though mate aint they looking more £70-£80 rather than £20-£30

its only a short term thing really

No idea to be honest, I never wanted to put one on as it ruins the fuel economy, I opted for a K&N 33-2850 panel filter replacement, paper filter comes out new one goes in... don't need to clean it for 50,000 miles or so... gives a decent enough throaty sound up the rev range for my liking without burning excess amounts of fuel.

yer but im an 18 yo with mates who have big exhausts (we aint chavs before you get ideas) so i want a more throaty sound where people can tell its got stuff done to it.

Peer Pressure? :lol:

This is what i sounds like with a Cupra backbox... again taken from ScottHmk4's readers ride...
Also having a loud exhaust doesn't guarantee you'll get yer hole either! :lol:
I think getting a backbox put on it would give you a better sound for what you are wanting to be hearing, probably have to be a custom job too, not sure on the cost, a couple of hundred maybe??
