Air Mass Problems

yet again another issue

MOT FINALLY SORTED BY THE WAY... Thanks for all the advice

I had a diog done a couple of weeks ago as the car was lagging in power it accelerates then kind of stops then starts and stops and so forth so took for diog and was advised it was the common AIR MASS that was gone.

I replaced this yesterday done as i was advised I took the battery off replaced the AIR MASS and then reconnected battery, Took car for a drive but still exactly same problem. Have been told i need to get ECU reset has anyone else had this problem?

Also is this the case that i need to get the ECU RESET after replacing AIR MASS. Any advice would be much appreciated as this is really starting to get to me real bad.

you did do a trottle reset , when you reconncetd the battery?

took car back in for a diog and get ecu reset problem still there. apparently now ive had code PO 003 or it could have been P0 03 APPARENTLY A MULTIPLE MISSFIRE. So now i believe i need to get 4 new coil packs :s cars are really getting on my nerves...

Depending on how old the car is, the coil packs should be covered under warrenty anyway hun, but i would hav thought Seat would have picked that up on Diagnostics if it was them

it come up on diog as multiple miss-fire cars on a 2002 plate so unfortunately not covered under warranty. i just ordered 4 coil packs today just hope this cures the problem.

Just been through this, had to replace the 3rd coil pack today and and with a new set of spark plugs!
Cant belive the denso plugs just blew! Only lasted around 2months! Oh well

Yeh the missfire is caused by your coil packs

Put 4 new coil packs on guys and cars sorted so god knows how many were gone but thank god its all sorted.

so after all them diagnostics and air mass meter run around turned out to be the coil packs.

Did the coil packs leave a fault code?

God knows probably going to have to go and get it reset arnt i. Not sure but theres no lights on the dash etc.

what trouble you have with your mot "jazzy cupra" ???(that does sound slightly camp!)mines just failed on emissions but been doing similar things.its been in the garage for a few days so 2moro i should know whats wrong.

Well the funny thing is mines did record a fault! The mechanic spotted the symptons staright way and checked each coil pack 1 by 1. till he found 3rd one dead!

thanks matey. yeah defo its knocked me back on mods now as far as the cash flow goes but its getting there.
