Hi, I've got an Ebay special vagcom lead that I use to run diagnostics on my car normally, but now I've had the airbag light come on... This is probably the dumbest thing I've ever asked, but to scan the airbag codes, do I just tick the box to scan airbag modules and ignore the warning, praying that the airbags don't blow up in my face?

I've done a search on here and generally on google but can't find anything :(

Thanks for your help guys!

ill be making a trip to lincoln possible this weekend, unless you are in retford at all, i can run a scan and reset it or confirm any issue safely with vcds if you like.

Thanks for the offer but I'm actually in Nottingham this weekend. Is it something I can do myself without blowing myself up? I mean I can scan normally for fault codes, and I even turned my EGR right down following instructions, so I'm not a total lost cause! :)

Right, I've scanned it now...

01222 - Crash Sensor Side Airbag: Passenger Side

(G180)
29-10 - Short to Ground - Intermittent
01222 - Crash Sensor Side Airbag: Passenger Side

(G180)
30-10 - Open or Short to B+ -

Intermittent

I'm guessing these are the driver side sensor as I've also just discovered the rear footwell is literally drenched in water, so looks like I have a new winter project... :/
