The other day i got in my car to find that the airbag warning light had come on. I took it to the dealership today and they told me that because i took the gear knob off it had triggered the switch, i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem?
They didnt charge me and just laughed about it saying its a strange problem. I went back to pick my car up and they had given it a full valet, inside and out, for free :D

I recently had my rear 3 windows tinted, then today i ring up my insurance to let them know. And im told that they dont allow any tinting at all not even if i pay extra. My fault i know for not ringing up in the first place but im pretty gutted about having to remove it

thats a new one on me i work on porsches and merc's and i have never herd of this , and i cannot see why it is connected with the air bag ?

Was it just the gearknob or the surround?

Airbag deactivation light is the only common connection.

The airbag light came on when i installed the armrest and also when i replaced the handbrake cover. (all this done at the dealer and they fixed it with vag-com)

ahh that explains it then if you need to do it again disconnect the battery first
