Sorry, but I had the VAG Ipod connection in my Golf and I didn't think it was cr@p... Choose the album you want to listen to on the ipod, put it in the dock and press 6 on the head unit to listen to the 'now playing' music. The track skip and ffwd/rwd work and it charges your ipod.
Also, the first 5 play lists map to buttons 1-5 on the head unit. Rename play lists with a number prefix so you can access them easily from the headunit.
So, if you are expecting - or were led to believe you would be getting - *full* functionality from the ipod dock in terms of full access to all tracks via the headunit / MFSW with track info displayed on headunit then yes, it is cr@p... However, as it stands it works quite well and is far better than the AuxIn connection. Yes it could be better and prolly will be with the next Golf platform.
