Bought a pre reg 1.9 Stylance diesel Aug '06. It has an intermittent shudder when I accelerate to 55 & above that speed shudder disappears. Car been in dealer workshop 4 times. They have contacted the technical dept in Milton Keynes who apart from suggesting changing the wheel bearing, couldn't come up with anything. Front left bearing changed but same problem occurring & dealership losing interest. Has anyone else experienced this or has any suggestions? I've asked SEAT to arrange another garage to look at it as I can't think of anything else!
Thanks

Is it engine judder. Does it go if you put it in neutral and free wheel?

i have a oct 05 toledo ref 1.9tdi. experienced shudder at 1500rpm in 5th gear., they recon it the clutch, but from the talk in the new tol section and somewhere here it's to do with the ecu software, it needs an upgrade, have mentioned this to the dealer but they want to fit a clutch. will say again as dont want the good original clutch taken out and new one in as will never be the same as the original!? it in at the moment getting few other things looked at (superficial things). hope points you in right direction or rules something out?

think will tell them again tomorrow and ask for it to be sorted on the software. Kazza62blue: does the shudder happen at a certain engine speed? eg. mine at 1500rpm above in 5th.

sounds more like clutch judder has it had flywheel recall?
is wheel out of balance?
or buckled??

it only has 9.5k on it, so couldnt see it bein the clutch this early, although stranger can happen! no recalls on toledo i know (altea is identical except for the rear i presume?).

going by the talk on another post here and in the tol section all pointing to the software, but will tell them want the whole thing checked, software/flywheel/clutch to be on safe side and if it not that well im stumped for answers! when you said is the wheel out of balance or buckled, you mean drive wheel or flywheel?

it only does it at 1500rpm and 5th gear, nothin elsewhere, only dead on 1500rpm on slight incline or load!

na, wouldnt think, it, perfect feel, no vibs at any speed through steering and it too precise and hard the shuddering to be this!even at bout 115mph (private rds..........?) it steady!

mine does annoy me, but also know when it coming so not as bad as ease off or go harder to get round it, only have car 1 1/2 mths. it bit annoying as i have to drop a gear where it should have the power to keep on going?
