just clear up a few things, my turbo will not come with warrenty as it was bought off someone, not off a shop/tuning company, even if their was warrenty on it, it would be craigs warrenty and not my own as he was the original buyer and it was bought in his name

please keep on topic

you on the blob today acid ??

if black smoke starts pouring out of my exhaust then yes i will sh!t myself, but i am well aware i have no warrenty, i didnt expect warrenty as i didnt buy it from a tuner, when you guys buy your ko3s's off ebay n sh!t do you get warrenty with them? no, just the fact you didnt pay as much as you should have

the comment about keeping it on topic was because the conversation started heading towards garett turbos, not the AM04 unit which this thread is about

saying "garetts have warrenty" was a pointless comment as anyone with common sense would know buying a turbo from garett would have warrenty,

i would prefer to have warrenty yes, of course, but on the other hand i am not a dumb ass who is going to go tear assing it about as soon as its fitted, needs running in properly etc ......

Your warranty depends on the supplier e.g. if you have a 3rd hand Forge dump valve off ebay Forge will honour any warranty claim on it.

Not suggesting a turbo is as simple as a DV just demonstrating different suppliers offer different warranty's etc

the response was to shockxe post I believe
AM do not come with warranty seems to be the answer

Named branded turbos do have warranty from quality suppliers & manufacturers.

If there is a question it is "how much of the supplied kit is new and or used" so its crystal clear what people are buying and they do not get surprises when they open the long awaited box of bits, potentially dissapointed if they were expecting new, but got used instead.

"informed" buying decision then and up to the prospective buyer then.

so you dont class A&M a tuner? theres quite a thin line between A&M and someone like ATP..they still stamp their own name on the turbo

its not quite the same as advertising on ebay is it?

but i suppose thats the risk you take when u decide to buy

no i dont, i class them as both having full time jobs, the work they do is only part time/hobby really imo, otherwise they would be more dedicated on getting the A&M name off the ground

However, i do have nothing but praise for them as all the products i have seen/own are very good and i am pleased with mine

im afraid its definitly more than a hobby when your making money from it

i honestly dont know where all this has come from...............

for example :-

iv read of people with ihi power from a very well known tuner/mapper and when their turbo went pop, they had to replace it with their own money, not under any warranty, same principle here with me, if mine goes bang, then i will have to pay for a replacement myself, and i know that, and knew it all along before i made my purchase

EDIT: and to add, if you supplied and fitted turbo's you expect their to be warrenty as everything would be done in house, however, if you sold the turbo to someone that wanted it delivered, could you as a tuner still promise that this turbo will be fitted/mapped correctly? i think you will find the answer will be no

On another note (may aswell get this sort of back on topic) here's the pictures of the vaccume pipe block off, it's the same as you would do with a KO3S turbo.
