So decided going to replace the seals on injectors 1-3 now as well, the car smokes after being sat for long periods (6 hours +) which would suggest to me diesel is leaking over that period. Waiting for the seals kits to come. Also going to reset the injector last to try and smooth out all the injector figures and going to put a 1litre can of diesel purge through the engine.
Also going to replace the glow plugs as not sure when they were last done if they ever have been, clutch release bearing and Valeo SMF kit have also turned up.
Check the glowplugs with a continuity tester, 1 probe on the plug one on the head, should be about 1 ohm for a good plug, a dead plug will be open circuit.
Also check the harness (or bridge as it’s called) - I had error code a few years back and tried to change out glow plugs cold………snap, snap
Managed to get them out and replaced only to find out it was an issue with harness
Changed that out and been fine for years
Car got its first clean in ages!! Reason why is because I've sold it to a local lad.
We have been using the missus Fiesta to carry the dogs around and its getting annoying so decided to buy a "cheap" estate for now until the money I'm taking from the house sale deposit comes through and then going to buy a SUV V8.
The cheap estate has an Australian V6 engine, the car is European and not that common.
So here's the replacement, had it since last Saturday. The "dog wagon".
2.8 V6 250ps, Hirsch Perofrmance (SAAB warrantied tuner back in the day) approx 275ps.
Car is a GM chassis (same as Vauxhall/Opel), Car itself built by SAAB and the engine is built by Holden (engine also used in Vectra VXR/Insignia VXR).
Insignia VXR turbo is bolt on, fit an intercooler and Stage 3 map looking at like 350ps.
Car is a 2006 56 "MY07" so a whole year newer the that Leon as that was a 2005 55 "MY06" , interior on the SAAB is a huge upgrade, just feels like a more expensive car full stop (not sure how much it was new compared to the Leon)
Real shame SEAT never did an estate MK1 and also didn't bring the V6 engine over here.
