Apologies for an old thread revival. I'm looking at fitting the same speakers as you.......did you need to adapt anything to make them fit the doors etc.......my mate has said something about having to make some adaptors..????

Best thing to do is make some mdf spacers , the bass will be a lot better , maybe add some sheets of dynamat while your at it

SAK-3103 adapters are what you need for off the shelf stuff. Halfords have them for about £20 a set but they're half that on eBay etc.

Yeah I had to get adapters. Not sure which ones they were now sorry.i got a local installer to fit them. Wish I hadn't because they made an arse of the job and I had to refit everything myself. When I get back home I'll see what size the adapters are

The door cards aren't too hard to take off if you take your time and look at the guides. The speakers do make a massive difference but clad your door with dynamat or soundcoat to help the sound. I just upgraded my head unit from a rcd 510 dab to a kenwood dab unit. To be honest it wasn't worth it lol. The rcd 510 is a lot easier to use, better laid out and there is very little difference in sound quality. I just think the leon is flawed sonicly. The new leon is a million times better
