Ok,
Just an update on the finance issue...

Got a call on my voiemail from VW finance with a message to call them back following the email i sent them about the deposit/servicing issue.

Amazingly they gave me the Audi number and I got through in about 30 seconds!

Anyway, bottom line is as posted here earlier:

I can cancel the finance agreement as Im within the 14 day cooling off period.
I had £15995 worth of finance. The settlement figure they have given me is £16001.30, so Im basically paying £6 of interest!
This will not have any affect on the £1000 deposit that was paid by them and I still get the 3 years free servicing!
My Dealer told me if I didnt make at least 1 monthly payment I would lose the £1000 deposit and the free servicing. Turns out they were speaking rubbish - if I cancel my finance before the first payment, the dealer gets no commission- thats why they tell you that you need to make a payment.:laser:

Woman from VW finance couldnt have been nicer. Im paying the balance by bank transfer tonight and thats it done, the cars all mine with a free £1000 off and free servicing all for the sake of a bit of paperwork and £6 in interest!

Cherrching!:funk:

Nice one. The dealer gets £240 I think. I just got a letter telling me I had 30 days to pay up even though I paid over the phone by debit card. I'll just ignore it since I can see from my statement that they've taken the money.

Good for you, definitely worth the extra time for the discount and free servicing. I understand that the dealers want the commission but I don't like the fact that they lie to get it. I was also told I must wait 30 days to cancel and I would lose the Free Servicing and discount. But a simple phone call to the real finance guys at Seat cleared it up for me.

possibly a trip back to the garage and a meeting with the manager to highlight the training the staff obviously need?

A valid point,
However, the garage is 35 miles away. Thats not the issue - bigger issue is the whole thing about trying to keep em sweet. My next nearest Seat dealer is 100 miles away so I dont want to cause troubles at my "local". Also, the salesman was a top guy, straight down the line and kept giving us regular updates on how the delivery was progressing.

Im already known in the Dealer group. I bought a 6 month old Scirocco from them last year. Was sold as a one owner car but when the v5 came through, I was the 4th owner! Its a long story and turned out to be a genuine error on the garages part.
Took a lot of hassles and threatening letters to get sorted and I eventually took it back and bought the Golf GT TDI.
My son works for the Dealer group as a mechanic. I got him to get me the private address of the MD. A letter to him explaining the way Id been treat soon got it sorted....apparently the VW staff got an almighty rollocking about the situation and bent over backwards to sort me out.
I got all of my demands for an exchange car, refund of phonecalls, free service plan etc agreed to. Only wish I d asked for more!

But anyway, like I said, Im known in the group so feel my reputation precedes me....maybe thats why the salesman was so helpful and cooperative at all times...

I ordered a new Leon on Feb 14th. Just had a call from the dealer (Livingstones in Uddingston) to say it had arrived today. Will be picking it up on Weds. Went for a 1.2TSI SE in Emocion red. Added the tech pack, rear park sensors, the lighter grey/2 tone interior, spare wheel, convenience pack and sunroof. Traded in my 1.4 FR...got a good deal i think. The FR has been great but the MPG is v average and the ride a wee bit too harsh for me on our crap roads. Looking forwards to weds !

Enjoy it Grant! Red is the best colour (obviously lol) and you'll love the sunroof! Your SE should have a nice ride...I've got an FR with 18inch wheels and its a bit of a bone cruncher on some our crap roads haha!

Just Bought a Red FR 2.0 Diesel Tech Pack 18" Alloys and convenience pack. Seen one on the road and totally changed my thoughts on it, Red looks stunning. I will shed a tear when my MK2 goes absolutely loved that car.

Cheers...picked it up yesterday and its a great car, very comfortable but nimble too Managed to get the roof open today ( spring in Glasgow is a bit damp ! )...and i love it. Thought my FR was fairly quiet, but the SE seems almost silent on the motorway. Looking forward to doing loads more miles. The door handles do seem to be rather large and chunky...tho i cant see them from in the car so i can live with that !....

Guys .. what is the best way to buy the cheapest Leon SC?
I am looking at either a FR 1.4 tsi or FR150 TDi

Dealer or Broker?
Finance or straight cash? (assume i have a bottomless pit of cash)
Any recommendation?

DTD knock around 3K off the price so that may be yuor best bet, or get a quote from them and then see if the dealer can match or better it. A few guys seem to finance to get the free servicing and then once delivery taken settle the finance so as to keep the free servicing and 1K discount the dealers offer.

Hi everyone,

my name is Simon, and i'm new one =).

I'm currently driving seat leon 2008, but i ordered a new Leon FR 150 - DSG on 08.03. but still I did not get information on building date.

Is that because is DSG ?

Yes, theres a bit of a delay on the DSG cars.

Same as the 180bhp cars......I guess the new Golf and A3 are getting priority on these gearboxes and engines.

Bit gutted to be honest, I ordered my 150 TDI dsg in hopes of avoiding the delay on the 183 version (which I would have much rather have ordered) and now I hear there is a delay on the dsg boxes as well now......

I might as well have got the 183 after all. Might get in touch with the lease company and see if its not too late to change my order.......

Where have you heard about the delay and how long is it? :(

Should hopefully hear from the lease company tomorrow regarding delay/eta.

Edit: I was told about the delay when I went to have a sneaky look in the showroom, salesman said that if I ordered a 183 TDI then (Beginning of March) I could expect it to arrive no earlier than November because there is a delay on that particular engine :-(

I have ordered the 1.8 TSI FR DSG and am told that the build date has been scheduled for w/c 6 May and delivery is typically four weeks after that. I ordered on 31 January!! :(

When I asked Seat UK about when I'd be able to order a 183 TDI Leon SC I was told "a couple of weeks" I'm guessing sometime in May as it's not shown in the April pricelist but is listed on the website.

I'm still being told June delivery for my 1.8 tsi FR manual. I don't know whether these will be delayed like the DSG.
I will also be gutted if my car is significantly delayed and the 184 tdi meanwhile becomes available. I also went to my local dealer to order the 184 tdi and they wouldn't take an order for it saying that it won't be available until November at the earliest. I ordered a 1.8 tsi instead being told it will be a May/June delivery.

I'm sure that I will not be disappointed with my 1.8 tsi.
