Apple Carplay on digital cockpit

Hi there!
i just got myself a 2019 Seal Leon Cupra St 300 and i’ve just been told that with apple carplay no info (maps, music playing on spotify etc) does not show up on the digital instrument cluster, or digital cockpit, only on the center screen.

anyone know of a mod or a way to make it connect to the DIC?

There's no way of doing that.

Some features were added in a later generation of instrument cluster software though, like direction arrows from current route and song name & album art from Carplay (or Android Auto), no map again. But not in Mk3 sadly.

It's about flashing the instrument cluster firmware with a newer version, which never was meant to run on that hardware.

I think you misunderstood me. Install the VC with index B directly and confirm the immobilizer and component protection.

To add some clarity:

What cairus is saying is a certain type of instrument cluster (Index B) can be fitted that has some additional features (still not carplay) but as with all instrument cluster swaps on newer cars (post 2013 at least), it is NOT possible for the majority of people to do this without the assistance of an independent specialist with the correct tools (ODIS for example) due to the security restrictions including the immobiliser and the anti-theft system known as Component Protection (CP).

It's complicated even more with MQB instrument clusters as they are the immobiliser master so requires additional steps that would not be know to the general public as this is ODIS specific. No need for further details on that here as that won't help the discussion.

Overall you can swap it out for an Index B cluster but not without assistance from a local independent specialist with ODIS plus the skills to configure the cluster after it has been released from the security restrictions mentioned above, such as coding and software configuration.

Just to add: If you're based in the UK, the main dealer won't help you, they don't touch used parts. They especially don't touch used control modules and extra especially don't touch used immobiliser parts or parts that have CP.

So why mention index B if it would be significantly more difficult to get working? Are there any significant differences between index A and B?

Post #2 was mine and I didn't mention a specific version like Index B. I was talking about later generation instrument clusters generally, like the one in Mk4s or the one in my Ateca, with the direction arrows from current route and song name & album art from AA/CP.
And I also said "not in Mk3" specifically.

As for the facelift, it added only two new views, removed one, changed the clock position so it wouldn't overlap with recognized traffic signs, maybe some more little things here and there. It didn't add anything related to navigation or media info.
