Well, another daily update. After a lot of force, and a few rounded off nuts later, I managed to get my old calipers off the car. 11 year old calipers proved a challenge!
Anyway, painted my hubs, abs ring etc etc, and it all looks a whole lot fresher. Also trial fitted my carriers / calipers for when my discs and pads arrive!
Fitted;
The looker, and the ugly sister;
Trial fit;
All new!
Finally put my engine back together (save a few brackets here and there), there's STILL some work to do on it, but with a lick of paint here and there, it looks a little brighter;

Caliper doesn't effin fit on top though! Dunno what's wrong, they're brand new too, so no compressing is needed, and they're about 4mil too small on top of the pads. FM actual LIFE!!! Really starting to get to me now, it's no longer fun, just want it back on the road tbh... I'm in a foul mood at the moment, apologies.
On closer inspection, they're clearly the wrong ones. The calipers, (see above) are identical. I had realised this before today, thought nothing of it, but this turns out to be the reason. The seller claimed that they were for a G60 setup, when they're not?... Great news! And now I've painted them and all.

Wrong caliper mate, not my fault really, he was adamant that it was a G60 one, but yeah, getting a refund, and I'll buy a brand new set of G60 / 16V ones. Thing is, they're not on VW spares, so...

I told you be careful and check! Make sure you don't get 256 calipers on 288 carriers.

I know DC, I know . I did wonder when I received a pair of identical ones. It's all new though, well, the calipers were, sending them back now...
Rocker cover was resprayed by myself, and baked it myself too lol, only time will tell if it worked or not. Also did a part of the air intake.
