looking good Llyr. got to do my passenger seat because when i broke that polo for the engine both passenger and drivers seat are ejector style so thought it would be a cheap little mod to make both mine ejector style. was the material easy enough to take off the frame?

Easy enough Phil! There's some wire running through the bottom, held in place with 2 tacks up front, and two metal spikes which you can bend open with a set of pliers. Compress the foam to get the fabric rails off which run either side before the bolsters :)

Ah yeah? Would they be in Polo Saloon's too? Well if I have any useless cash about some time, I'll go for a look :). Is that all seats identical? How confident are you? :p

the polo (6n on a T plate) that i broke was a 4 door and the seat base`s and frames are identical. 100% sure! same sliders and runners, defo!

to be honest with the spacers and the lowness of my car its killing the paint work on the arches :cry: maybe i should of gone with 15 spacers ?

Evening chaps! Another minor update before showing you my larger update next week :).

I decided to fit footwell lights to my car, as mentioned. I found the car terribly dark, and in an OEM kinda fashion, I'm trying to bring it up to date slightly. Anyway, here's how it went;

Marked up and cut out of side kick panel;

Will eventually fit capacitors in line to each light, but for now, they're wired up off the interior light loom.

Finished article;

To conclude, I'm pretty happy with the results, pre-made the loom, fed it through the dash, cable tied it neatly, quick scan over the wiring diagram in Haynes, and was done in under and hour.

Leathers cleaned and conditioned with none other than Gliptone;

More to follow next week! :)

Excellent work!

Really like the idea of footwell lighting! - I'am a novice with car electrics though!

Have you tried Raceglaze Leather products?

Oh if someone wants to donate a cupra gearknob like this to me please get in touch!

Cheers DC! I was looking at the Raceglaze only last night! Looked pretty decent stuff! Do you think it would rejuvenate the slightly worn gearknob?

I've found both the cleaner and balm to very effective with a smell that compliments the leather. I achieved a nice natural matt finish.

I suspect it will do little to repair worn leather - you'l need dye/colour for that.
