ashtray light?

as the heading states, do they have one? (can't remember if mine did)..
if so does anybody know how to change it? (as mine must be blown).

mine has one, its the same colour as the dash lights and guages! pretty cool tbh!

My 52 plate. However my 58 plate doesnt, think they cut back on costs and probs discourage people from smoking.....

sorry mate i dont! never had to change it so never really took it apart! think the middle consol has to come out? but out of courisity, take the gear gaitor off and see if u can get near it through there! its a tight wee space i know!

Some MK4's do have one and some don't. The bulb for the fag lighter also illuminates the ashtray. The way to tell is to stick your finger into the fag lighter socket, try to hook your finger and pull up at the same. The lighter socket will pull up out of it's mounting hole and you will see if it has a bulb atached to the side of it.
If it has a bulb then you can replace it, if it doesn't have a bulb you can buy a MK3 Ibiza fag lighter as all of these are illuminated even on the poverty spec ones in the scrap yard. The MK3 fag lighter is a direct replacement and you can wire up the bulb to the traction control illumination wiring if you have it or anywhere you fancy that is ignition switched.

Light in the ashtray, but missed from the boot. Stoopid.

tried it and nearly pulled me thumb off!!!! al keep trying though. any more ideas anyone?
or is that the only way? it must have one, it already had a boot light though, put a glovebox one in meself

I don't have an ashtray light, boot light or glovebox light I've got the parts to fit boot and glovebox one but never got round to it.

Glove box one I put in myself and no boot light so will try this not that it bother me that much never occurred to me until this thread came up. They prob think most people do not notice when they cut these things out!

I have a ashtray light but no boot or glovebox light, totally useless for me as i dont smoke and i'm always chucking stuff in and out of my boot
