hey people

Good news :rolleyes:got my jacking point cover back onto my LCR after at lot of blood, sweat and tears:cry:. The cover has been off for months now but today i tried agian to get the cover on and after abit i had enough and took the side skirt off, it was mile easyer than i fort, just took me about 5min to take the skirt off and then back on with the cover on, there is about 5-6screws and the skirt is off. :funk:
So people if you falling out with your car because the cover isnt going on just take the side skirt off i will be next time.

Good news, I fought for 2hours with them before discovering an easy way to do it.

Clip the outer edge in 1st, hold a cloth (folded over a few times to make a cusion) over it and hit the inner edge with a hammer :D
No damage done, well not to the car but watch those fingers!

My one fell off the otherday on the way home from work...all I can say is thank god for the platic tie that holds it on to the skirt otherwise I'd have lost it totally.

It's currently sat in the car waiting for the weekend to try & get it back on.
Did try the other night but had no joy whatsoever, too dark to see properly but...does seem like a pain to fit but I'm going to try putting it on without having to resort to taking the skirt off first.

Fingers crossed mine goes back on easily in the daylight

The trick is to put a thin screw driver between the sideskirt and the bottom of the car, in that way the plastic can move and then it's easy like hell...

I lost one, even with the plastic wire it still scrapes along the road & hey presto it's fu**ed!! £6.40 for a new one, sprayed it then tried to fit it today.....NIGHTMARE!!!!! :censored:

Ended up using no nails sticky stuff as I gave up trying to clip it into place, god knows how Women are supposed to put them back on after a puncture :censored:

they are a fricken nightmare, took me over 2 hrs one time until i found out a way to do it. instead of taking the skirt off i just push it down and whack the cover back on, works everytime

I myself have struggled, sworn ,shed-blood /tears trying to encourage my jacking point covers to fit . thought id won the battle when one of the little sh**s fell off and is now lost forever.[:@]
then a friend tuned up and rather smugly suggested removing the skirt so it would be easier to fit the new and freshly painted cover. well five screws and 15 minutes later an the job was done . its rely that easy honest guys

Best bet with these is don't use them. My friend used to work as a Seat body guy and he said they are always trouble going back on. It doesn't help with the amount of dirt that builds up behind them from driving. Every now and again take the skirts off and clean them up then fit again. Also prevents the sills from prematurely rotting.

my tip - buy the audi a3 jacking points from awesomegti or audi for £17 and use these to jack off - never remove your oem jacking point covers again!!
