Ateca 4Drive boot options

My partner has just bought a SEAT Ateca 2.0 TDI 4Drive Xperience and one of the first things we've noticed with the boot is the lack of a flat boot. From the service history it looks like ths was an ex-demo car that didn't have any boot options selected on it. We looked at the 2WD verisons prior to getting this and they all had a solid boot but the 4WD obviously doesn't.

I'm just wanting to know what the options are to get a flat sturdy boot surface, as you can see from the images it currently just has a peice of carpet sat over the base and the result is just an uneven surface for loading.

We've spoke to our local SEAT dealership and tried the high-edge boot tray (ref: 575061201H) which was the sturdiest version which didn't solve the problem because its still only a thick rubber. They have ordered a superseeded version of the liner we currently have to see if its a solid version, but I'm not convinced it will be.

Looking around, I saw part 575863463KCA9 (image 4 and 5) which looks to be a solid version with foam supports, but I'm not sure if those will line up for support. SEAT said they couldn't order this because its listed as a Skoda only part, so I'd need to go to the Skoda dealership.

Other options I'd seen from this forum is the Skoda spare wheel kit (57A093860C) which is quite well documented which might be the last resort. Just didn't want to lose the additional boot space just for the goal of a flat floor. Otherwise it might have to be a homemade plywood boot floor.

My Ateca 4drive I specified with the spare wheel and Seat Sound System it comes with the flat surface that fits over the skinny wheel. A trip to your Skoda Karog dealer is the answer and the spares desk in there. Show them the car and they should be able to fix you up. The Karoq and Ateca are identical cars boot wise.

Seat at launch didnt allow to post custom fitting the boot. If you didnt order it at the time you couldn't get the parts later. A couple of years passed then they put those fittings on the market... now taken back off so its Skoda Karoq for them. I did pin a couple of threads on the Seat Ateca and Cupra Ateca side which you can have a look at but what you are really after is the 4drive fitting. I don't think anyone published their how to guide with part numbers.

Basically with the axle in the rear the boot floor is raised compared with the 2wd. Enough room to fit a skinny. The raised floor is about 1/2" below the boot lip. So if you carry heavy stuff in the boot that slides the reversible rubber / carpet boot mat (pricy) is worth getting. Stuff in the boot stays stuck on the mat.The floor fitting for a 2wd is lower but you don't get a skinny in there.

Oh yes people did make plywood floors before you could buy the missing stuff never bought at the time when the car was new.

Thanks for your reply on this @Tell. We took another trip to the SEAT dealership today to look at the boot liner they ordered (ref: 575863463BCA9). It was sturdier than the roll of carpet but easily flexed under slight pressure so we opted against that.

After that we went to the Skoda dealership and spoke with parts there. They pretty much categorically said they couldn't help because they said they had no idea if parts would fit, and anything they did order would be non-refundable. Offered to show them the car several times to see for themselves and to compare against a 4x4 Karoq that they literally had on the forecourt, but they declined.

Since we weren't bothered about fitting a spare wheel in the boot to begin with and primarly wanted that flat sturdy boot floor, I'm now leaning towards the Variable Boot Floor kit (SEAT Parts direct). I'm guessing that this will fit the 4Drive variant from replies over there.

You can be the guinea pig on the variable floor. Report back with photos and details once done... we are a bit thin on that one for the 4drive.

I did wonder whether you'd prefer the boot liner. Garden centres and all that its more practical. This Ateca is shopping and holidays. Clearing out mother house I did have a bag of garden horse muck in my Altea boot. Less bothered but it did spill out on the tip run.

Some of those fitting threads you had to search in the carpet for where it fixed. Did they use different bolts ?. Rings a bell. Mind you if you find a Karog with that or Ateca you can study how it goes in. Basically the metal is drilled it just find it and cutting the carpet I think.

The boot liner accessories were a non-starter without a solid flat floor because it would just deform either way.

I've submitted a parts enquiry on seatdirectparts.co.uk for the variable boot to check it will be compatable.

I've seen a few people mention they've done this on a 4Drive version on this thread but nothing in the way of pictures on those ones. My assumption is that the screw holes are predrilled in all chasis and then the carpet cut or not depending on options. It would be nice to know if the holes are drilled before I start cutting carpet out though.

In terms of what the floor sits on, im guessing the points for that are fitting on all Ateca's too?

Believe holes are pre drilled but you need to cut the carpet to get the bolt in. Presumably you lift the side carpet to find the holes. Those longer bolts in the picture that were used. The floor then sits on the brackets.
