cheers mate. Yea i had to remove it, but it was really simple to do. i think in all about 1 hour 15mins to do everything
Quite fancying a set of these myself and stumbled across this post. Got a facelift Leon. Really like the angel eyes DRLs on the new BMWs but as they aren't an option, the R8 style are a gorgeous alternative.
How hard is the bumper to remove and replace?
Are they a straight swap for the standard halogen lights?
How do i get the option for DRLs enabled on the MFD so that the LEDs work as DRLs?
On a less inquisitive note, your car is looking SMART waitsey :D

Hi, sorry to revive and old thread. It how much better are these with the HID's over the standard halogens?, have you got any photos of them in action, ie ahead of the car?.

Cheers :)

Waitsey,

I was looking at your pics (post #43) of the light unit with the gap between the light and bumper and you said that you hadn't finished screwing it so, my question is did that gap disappear when you had finished? Also I was wondering, the lights dont come withthe electric adjustment motors in them so do the old units have them installed inside the unit or are they separate so u can just plug them into the new units?

Thanks
Kyle

The motors are simple to swap across, I did it with mine till a couple of minutes total.

On mine I also had to transfer the adjustment blocks off the old headligjt to the new, pretty self explanatory which is great as the instructions are terrible :).

Not sure though the lights in mine don't fit facelift Leon's.

They fog up easily though but I think they just need better venting as they are not leaking anywhere and the HID wires are effectively blocking one vent and are also cooler so don't help much for heat.

Massive styling and performance improvement on the standard halogens and the old fuzzy plastic lenses.
