On the last according this piece the airbag system is used to release the locks.@Rob66 - With VW it also used to be possible to switch off the auto lock function in the vehicle settings. However, with my last VW, that option had been removed and a courtesy car I had also had the option removed.
@leonfr89 - if you’re wanting to deactivate the auto lock function I’ve personally never felt the need to do this and I’m happy the car locks me in. As @Tell has said, it’s safety feature to prevent car jacking and keep the vehicle occupants safe during car jacking attempts. I’m pretty certain that in the event of an accident the doors auto-unlock so emergency services can gain access to the vehicle interior and / or occupants can get out.
Anti hi-jack has always been a reliable and robust system, KESSY walk away locking can be very hit and miss.I wouldn't trust auto lock and unlock in anycase.

Yes it beeps to let you know it's worked but I'd much rather press the fob myself just for peace of mind.
But the Headline shows Autolock? This thread is about anti hi-jack, not the KESSY walk away locking feature?
