Auto lock

Has anyone seen where the option for auto lock is when driving away? I've gone onto the central locking options on the infotainment screen but it's not listed, only door lock options (all doors/driver side) and interior monitoring.

Is it not locking or you want to stop it. The feature is designed to prevent car hijacking when stationary. Gone are the days when you had to lock yourself in, it does it for you.

Sorry cant help on the Mk4, but I was able to turn it off on my Mk2 in the settings (which i did as it started to get a little bit eager and locking and unlocking randomly as i was driving.) Perhaps its something that you need to do with VAGCOM or similar now.

@Rob66 - With VW it also used to be possible to switch off the auto lock function in the vehicle settings. However, with my last VW, that option had been removed and a courtesy car I had also had the option removed.

@leonfr89 - if you’re wanting to deactivate the auto lock function I’ve personally never felt the need to do this and I’m happy the car locks me in . As @Tell has said, it’s safety feature to prevent car jacking and keep the vehicle occupants safe during car jacking attempts. I’m pretty certain that in the event of an accident the doors auto-unlock so emergency services can gain access to the vehicle interior and / or occupants can get out.

On the last according this piece the airbag system is used to release the locks.
