Pre-facelift ST, anyone found automatic boot struts? Not been able to find any online myself.

There is some information there, but the mod only seems to be applicable for SC and not ST.

I looked into this previously, and people that had tried to fit the struts from an Octavia estate (same length as the Leon but higher nm opening force) either end up with premature lock failure or a warped tailgate. So I gave up and just left them as is

There might also be a risk of damaging the tailgate when parked in places with height restrictions such as multi storey car parks. Opening the tailgate and watching it hit the concrete - or steelwork - above could be a costly mistake!

It can be done with OEM parts to have a powered tailgate. Only thing that stops people is the need to take a hole cutter to the body for the loom.

There is a guy over on the mainland that has done it, I forget his name now.

It's on my list of things to do but way down the list.

I keep my car in a garage with electric roller door, I'd hate to think what would happen if I had auto boot opening in operation.

The only option I’d consider, and I’ve no idea if it’s even possible, is if someone like @East Yorkshire Retrofits can somehow make the electric tailgate system from the Skoda work
It’s fairly straightforward. But it requires cutting into the pillars, or I believe some people mount the struts upside down and cut the tailgate lid instead
