Any one can tell me how to fix rear aux heater on my PD alahmbra? Is a link to how to rebuild it.
How much do these items cost r#to replace and how much worth 2nd hand on the market.
if its just smoky or noisy, i would just disconnect the power plug and leave it be. new ones are around £600 from SEAT but some versions have a replaceable glow plug at around £30
Hmm smoky can be fixed but noisy usually means its dead. I dont know of anyone who has dismantled one as SEAT dont supply overhaul kits. Most just unplug it and leave it in place but not working. Second hand is an option but beware of different versions which arent interchangeable - standard a/c and digital control are different part numbers

I've just sorted mine out...it stopped working all together which was strange because it worked fine last year.
I personally wouldn't recommend disconnecting it as this has a direct effect on the main heating system and you'll also notice the engine doesen't get up to temperature.
The fault with mine turned out to be because the auxillery water pump under the bonnet had failed...this supplies the aux heater with a fresh supply of coolant for approx 5 minutes after the engine has been switched off to prevent the heater unit overheating.
The aux heater has an internal temp sensor that monitors coolant temp inside the unit, if it detects an overheat it shuts it down.
After 5 overheat shut-downs the fault is stored and the heater is effectively 'locked out' and until the fault memory has been cleared it WILL NOT WORK.
I replaced the coolant pump and also fitted a new glow plug as a precaution (£19 from GSF)
Mate at VW cleared the fault memory and away we go!!! Heaters now great and the car gets upto temperature in no time.
Well we disconnted ours, i think the car warms up quicker than before (or just me). Any idea what fault code was yours? Did yours used to smoke and weird noise?
Well most the work is carried out by my self, labour is expensive but work carred is really good. My parts department is proper safe, good customer service. i did have a bone to pick with one valiters there but thats different story.
