Battery Lightflashes when Boosting

Hi,

Hope someone can advise me.

When boosting normally in 3rd or 4th gear (well the only times i have noticed it) the battery light starts flashing, engine doesn't cut out, stop boosting and light stops flashing. I have checked all the wires on top of the battery, all are secure and tight.

Has one one had this issue? or advise what it could be

Thanks

Craig

Mine was around £120 don't forget once they go, we have DBW and you get no throttle pedal very early on when the battery doesn't receive it's charge.

Im getting some grinding noise occasionally and a little squealling sound when pulling off, doubt aux belt as that was replaced 8 months ago, so sounds like is the alternator - thanks for both your quick replies

Where did you buy the alternator for £120?

£120 seams cheap to me - where is that from?

when i have been looking eurocarparts had one for about £146 but is says out of stock and to ring. other places have been quoting anywhere from £404 - £176 depending on new or recon units.

mine is a bosch 120a 14v

Was a local garage specialising in rewinds.
Mine was to far gone to be saved i think, I'm sure mine was a bit discounted and going by your quote shows it was.
i found a new one on the bay for £10 less, but I wanted the "ease" of a local guy if it ever went wrong.

Can you tell me if the alternator is 90a or 120a - and if the standard is Valeo or Bosch?

Called up Seat and they need the part number. I can't see it, so guessing it is on the bottom of the alternator somewhere, or im going blind

Mines the Cupra R 210

Cheers

mine had a little white sticker on the right hand side of it (looking head on at the car) i had to get a torch on it and squint a little to read the faded numbers.
