One side at a time with axel stands and wheel chocks is the safest
Not really adviseable to suuport with trolley only
Trolley to be placed in behind where the jacking point covers are (these don't need removed you'll be glad to hear)
For the axel stands there is a promenant ridge that runs down either side of the car, from behind the engine to between the back wheels lower the car on the stands onto these

If your going to put the wheels anywhere as a safety device place it under the place I mentioned putting the axel stands. At least if the car does drop you can get access to the jacking up place to get it back up again
OR
Put it on bricks where I said to put the axel stands

mark you need any help doing the brakes?

Hi Gaz thanks for the offer mate :) I SHOULD be ok doing them myself ? having said that I havent changed a set of brake pads for a few years now  but ive printed off ruddmeisters excellent guide which should help.

The thing im most nervous about doing is my upper strut brace, the thought of drilling those holes

Something is wrong with my brain. When I saw the title of this thread, I initially thought you meant you'd find a great place to do heroin. I was a little concerned....

Either way, this thread has reminded me to buy axle-stands this coming weekend after my brothers Clio came off the trolley jack. Horrible sound and some under-carriage damage. Not a good day.
