before you do anything with regards to polishing make sure the car is completely clean, youll need to clay it and ideally use some sort of tar remover, otherwise you may well inflict more damage in the process...

gtechniq p1 is a really good polish that can correct swirls marks and fine scratches by hand. its an all in one polish and the correction ability of it depends on what applicator you are using.

you'll need a Zaino Tri-Foam 6" Oval Applicator. one side is harder for breaking down the polish and 'correcting' the paint. the other side is softer and used to finish it down to a higher gloss finish

to fill the swirls/marks and leave a slick gloss finish you wont get better that 'poorboys black hole or white diamond' one specifies for darker and one for lighter cars. they are both the same formula just with a bit of colouring so buy one and it will do anything. smells nice, easy to use, great finish...

dont forget to seal in the finish once you are done with a wax or sealant or else all your hard work will be washed away in the rain.

I have a detailing business around my full-time job (working nights) so if you need any more advice feel free to pm me.

p.s all products can be bought from www.cleanyourcar.co.uk thats who i use and they are brilliant

a cleanyourcar customer uploaded these 2 photos of a before and after on his mini just using black hole

you can do on a finishing pad but the finish is no better, just easier and quicker than doing it by hand.

it has no correction ability, just fill and glaze :)

Listen to Zach he's the boyyyy lol ;)

this is so true haha.

also the results in the picture does use a bit of camera trickery. the results are good no doubt but the sun is on the panel in the first pic and just in the reflection on the second

Speed glaze is very good. Will be hard work doing any correcting by hand tho. And it's 'filling' capabilities aren't great.

Wash, clay, wash, polish then wax.

Depending on what wax you're using it's normally good to give it 1 coat. Wait 24 hours, give the car a 'light' wash and then give it another coat. You could give it 2 straight away but people generally say the durability is better when applied a while after

i'd do 2 immediate coats with the farecla stuff. then re-apply every 2 month or as necessary.

invest in a quick detailer too if you havent already. its basically a good top up in between waxes to use after every wash or so

makes your wax last longer and most of them take seconds to wipe on wipe off.

dodo juice red mist or auto finesse finale is what i use

Bilston.
The one thing you will find with autoglym is its chock full of fillers.

This is why it such a pig to get off your plastics and when buffed very powdery.

One thing i have found with autoglym SRP is using a damp pad stops it drying out so quickly.

It's only powdery when you've put too much on. A little goes a long way with srp. Plus make sure you work it into the paint. It's not a wipe on wipe off product :)
