my p zero nero's on my (petrol) cupra have done just over 7000 miles aswell! but i did do a track day in them, where alright but sometimes when throwing the ibiza into the croner it didnt like it at all! they dont like the wet, dont feel confident in the wet to give some stick round corners. they tend to just spin and find myself going in a relatively straight line still! :headhurt:
and as gazjones and someone else have said, mine are also suffering with a greater wear rate on the inside of the tyre compared to the outside!

am still confused as to what tyres are the best to get, but from the comments that people have made, it seems the toyo t1-r's seem to be pretty good. have never heard of rainsport before. think im going to enquire about the toyo's and see how much i can get them for

I havn't driven on Pirellis for over 17 years, on P6s and P600s. They were really awful in wet/greasy conditions back then. I also had my first pair of Toyos in 1990, a pair of second hand 'Tuned 60's. In the wet both they and threadbare Michelins were better than either set of Pirellis. They were also the only tyres that I have ever suffered tyrewall failure with

I have never bought Pirellis since. Thought thinkgs could have improved over the last seventeen years but it seems not!

Proxes & Rainsports all the way for me!

no damage to the car or anyone else thank god, was doin about 80 and heard a weird noise from the back so slowed to 60 then pop she goes pulling the back end all over the shop. managed to pull over into a layby within about 800 yards luckely, the second blow out in as many months, had a nearside rear go pop on a works van coming back from aberdeen. is was raining there aswell (has someone got it in for me i wonder:think: ) was only doin about 20 in traffic though.

i don't know what to go for rainsports or proxies??

right now ordering my 2 new uniroyal rainsports, got good reviews on here and on the tyre test site(plus for some reason i couldn't find toyo's on the site in my size), £61 + £10 for my local place to fit em! seems reasonable, on my old car i was quoted £93 a tyre for michelins exhaulto's without fitting.
but where should i put em, ie. two newys on front and put old bridgy's on back or leave bridgy's on front and put uni's on back, i sure i read a post saying put the gripier tyres on the back, but it's a FWD so surely they should go on the front??

davels - what website did you get your tyres from? seem pretty good pirces considering on my old saxo i paid £65+ for some yoko a539's in 195/45/15!! where very good though, am considering them as replacements aswell!

has anyone else had the yoko a539's on their car? what did they think?

i no longer care

i'm guessing i might get some backlash for this but i have a cupra diesel and am sick of buying new tyres every 6000 miles (i do 20,000 miles a year) always on pirelli nero's, all i want know is some that grip reasonably well but last for fookin ages, any ideas?

please help or the wife might make me sell the car as only get 40mpg out of it on most days and apparently she could buy some more shoes and matching handbags with my cash"""""

Stop using that right pedal like an on off switch then me old mucca, as i do give my tyres a hard time, and i admit that they are very unlikely to see any more than 7k miles from a set. Yes thats my fault, but you drive it hard, and things are gonna wear out quicker.
