Well, as you guys know I attended a track day at Blyton Park yesterday at Blyton Park.

http://www.blytonpark.co.uk/

I went up with the lads from LVSR who had invited me along with them as it was my first time on track. Its quite a tight and technical track so was a good test of the car and me too! I was still managing to pull up to just shy of 140 on the straights tho so it was far from a slow track.;)

After brimming the tank with V-Power, removing all the crap from my car and lowering all the tyres by a couple of PSI I was ready to go. We set off bright and early and were all sorted and ready to get on track by 0930 (even had a bacon roll and brew too.)

First I went out slowly to get the hang of things and soon realised that I'd left the b@stard ESP on!

After I realised my mistake (funnily enough) the car felt much better round the track as I could manage the slip angle myself through the corners. The linear throttle map proved invaluable for this.

The handling setup that the LVSR lads have done on my car is epic!:funk: It held on way beyond other Mk5 chassis cars that were there and cars running 888's also. It actually got a lot of questions in the pits/rest area too. The Eagle F1 Assy 2's were epic, really progressive and filled me with confidence too.

The same cannot be said for the brakes, although the standard stoppers are good on the road, the same cannot be said for the track. They could only handle about 20 mins of abuse before I had to come back in to let them cool. Andy thinks that I actually boiled my fluid 3 times but its in for a 'Post Track Health Check' and fluid/oil change tomorrow so it'll be ok.

Managed to empty the tank in 62 miles before filling back up, made my eyes water a little...

Alltogether I was on track for about 3.5 hours as I made sure that I gave the car plenty of time to cool between sessions. There wasn't much there that could stay with the Cupra or the LVSR A3 and we did hammer a few 'high end' cars too which made the drivers look a little miffed to say the least!

Thoughts for next time....................

Will be running R888's and will have to look into big brakes front and rear but I can sort this slow time throughout the winter.

In the next three you can see that the passenger didnt expect the 'Asbo' to grip so well!:D
Also that I've got psycho eyes going on too!;)

Both the cars enjoying a well deserved 'rest'

Didn't actually think this was too bad as the car was working very hard all day.

Andy managed to get a Go-Pro on his car and past the pretty tight scrunity of the stewards so we went out and got some footage of us playing around. I have to say that I had to work REALLY hard to stay ahead of him as the A3 (although down on power to me) was running R888's, big brakes front and rear and has a very aggressive geo and handling setup!

Video footage to follow as I'm getting it off him tomorrow when my car is in getting checked over.

Hope you guys enjoy the pic's as much as I enjoyed the day!

Looks like you had a right laugh! :) Car looks awesome! It's also good to see the Assy 2's were working well on track (as they're pretty impressive on the road).

Wouldn't mind a go myself but I reckon it could be quite addictive (and expensive!).

You mentioned your brakes not being up to the job. Have you seen the Loba Motorsport 8 pot Brembo 362mm brake setup?

Your right mate, it could become both expensive and addictive!;)

I'll be honest, I've not heard about that brake setup at all, I'll be sure to look into it tho!:funk:

Would they fit under the alloys is the question!!???

Hopefully this image will work. Not 100% sure on clearance for the standard alloys but they're supposed to fit S3's, Golf R/R32's etc.
