but has a full blueflame system on it if this helps

new engines can get oil past the piston rings too... they shouldnt - but your engine will be a refurb, not a new one.

my car has been to the dealers and ........

The smoking is being cuased by the valve stem seals also the teci reckoned it was something to do with the dv relocation kit on ?? peoples comments on this as i find it hard to swallow ,but if he is right what then bugger !!!

If the dealer said it was the valve stem seals then how does the dv relocation kit affect them. Did they say if the valves will seal themselves as the engine as only done 6K.

I had leaking valve stem seals on a mk2 golf gti, and a guy recommended using the oldest, crappiest oil, to bed the seals in again. I forgot to mention, I blew the oil through them about a week before!!

what oil is in it? dont they run very thin oil at first?

cant see how the dv can affect the valve stem oil seals? unless the dv didnt work and the pressure went back to the throttle body? could that happen?

dont worry mate the above is just a guess. im no meccy

why did the engine get replaced?

the no1 conrod dropped through the bottom of the engine not sure about the dv relocation he said sumink along the lines of the gases were to hot going past the valve stems as if to say it was burning them>>??? thru the dv relocation as the hot gases were and are being diverted another route to which i find hard to believe ???

just gets better

called me today supposed to ave picked it up ....and guess what not the stem seals , luckily the techie is as good as gold tho ...... so there gona strip the engine down now to find the cuase ...... any one wana guess .......[:@] want my car back ....

sounds like turbo to me,

Punto GT's used to do this all the time once they got to around 60,000 miles. In gear you would get no smoke at all but when you pulled up to the lights or a junction it would start smoking lovely blue oily smoke. Thats where i would have looked first off.

If it had been valve stem oil seals there would have been smoke on start up due to the oil slipping past. This was always a classic on the old CVH's.

Get them to check that turbo before brutalising the rest of your engine.
