Ooooooooooooooo.. that looks good! I'll try most stuff.. by DIY spraying is not one of them!!! I think I'll be down the local spray shop come payday! (he's not seen me since I got the LCR!!!) any more news on the rear badge??

Very easy, one trip to Halfrauds

One can of spray primer for plastic (grey)
One can of Plasti-Kote Black satin spray for plastic trim
One pack on wet and dry paper and about 2hrs over 2 nights work

Good work Steve. Should look better than a debadged centre grill. Never been a fan of debadgeing Leon grills.

For the rear it might be worth getting a bodyshop to spray the part so it matches the paint work exactly.

That's what boyfriends are for.....DIY ;)

 that's the funniest thing I've herd all ... YEAR!!! I love him to bits.. but DIY is not he's thing.. watching him use some tools is painful! And snapping the bolt head stud on my 206 when I was 45miles from home and selling it the next day was the final straw, lucky I made it home with still oil in the engine!

He's not allowed near my car with any tools anymore.. he once used a bit of wood as a engine mount!!!

Depending on how much work you want, you could have the tail gate smoothed, and have a solenoid installed to open it.

Or you could order a new handle for the rear, have it painted then fit it over a weekend. It can’t be that hard to strip down.

I was happy with the finish yesterday, so I fitted them...

But on putting the badge back in two things I'm not happy with :( first of all the centre S is very loose, now I recall someone washing there car on here ages ago and the S falling out. Infact there was a hillarious retrieval method involving coat hangers and kitchen appliances :cartman:. This will be solved with a couple of small dots of superglue though.

The second thing I'm not happy with is that the reason I know the S is loose is cos I gave the centre grill a good shove to get it back in, which worked a treat but the S bit fell out ............oh how I laughed.....particualrly when I notice a chip off the corner where it fell into the void between radiator and bumper.

One good thing is that I now know this finish too soft (for stone chips etc), if I was doing it again I may try and give the original badge a really rough surface to key to.

So i'll fill the corner, probably just primer, couple of coats of black and then I think a couple of coats of Lacquer and refit.......thing is I didn't really want a lacquer finish I was happy with satin but I can;t see an alternative.....
