shoot me if this is a daft question, i'm being lazy and i've never checked..., but is it easy/possible to remove the centre grille section?

Yes

and only the vertical bars...?

S is inset into the vertical bars

With enough time you could cut out the vertical bar and S and put back honeycombe or all vertical bars (glue them in etc)

Right i have won the Black (chrome badge from ebay at 99p!) and the manual is useless! No info on the boot at all!

Its much better than the vertical bars I had on it before, but I'd still love to get my hands on a full honeycrome grille with no S altogether

Looks good, note to all after the layers of paint on the black S it never quite sat back in place so I used some araldite (sp?) a few blobs on it.....got to Forge last Friday and it was missing (fallen out) no sign in the undertray either so now i have no badge (lost on the M5)

A few people said at the Awesome RR day that it looked good with no badge tho

Will be having a go at spraying my Rear S Badge over the next week or so. I already have a debadged front end... cant decide if i prefer the horizonal or vertical debadged centre grille though. I have the Vertical and the Mrs has the Horizontal... hummm....
