hi all got my Blue Flame full system fitted yesterday, sounds great and i can feel a difference in the boost , excepet i need a fmic now as it trys to boost so hard i guess timings are being pulled much more now

anyway main Q is has anyone else got a full system from blue flame,

my prob is its TOO loud and as soon as i get to around 80 Mph the drowning noise is sooooooo LOUD i cant bare it :( its like a jack hammer IN your ear ???

i wouldnt want to do any motorway driving with it ?

is there anything i can do to make it quieter ?? if not then it will be up for sale

cheers
Mike

they are notoriously loud i'm afraid mate maybe you can get an extra silencer fitted, milltek is a much quieter option if not though.

im selling my miltek cat back system for £200 in a couple of months as im going for the blue flame if your interested

I just got blueflame full system - it really is loud as feck... I'm told they get slightly quieter as it coke's up a bit, and also mine is touching the car body at the back, so I'm hoping that will stop some of the reverberation..

..but basically yes mine's really (really) loud.

How well did yours fit?

Mine's about 2 or 3 cm too long, meaning it sticks out a bit at the back and all the rubber hangers are at full tilt, and it touches the bumper at the back. getting it adjusted monday, but I guess as they're all hand made, or made to "whatever-i-feel-like-at-the-time" spec, that's what you get.

payed 525 for it,

i didnt fit it i got a garage to do it but the down pipe and cat was hard against the heatsheild and yes the exaust pipe was touching the plastic on the bumper

LOUD AS FECK YES :( i realy dont think im going to have it for long, im sure you would be deaf after a motorway run

I've had my Blueflame on for well over a year and i don't think it was ever over the top loud.., maybe i was just lucky.. The only time it seems to be semi-loud is when the boost comes in.., but on the m/way who's driving with the car on boost all the time?

Let it coke up a lil and it'll be fine..

"PARDON!?"

Right - so it sounds like it's fitted about as well as mine has... Garage said it was right up against the heat shield as well.. mine's also melted a small portion of the bumper cutout - not visable luckily but i'm getting it re-looked at. Do you not think your noise issues are related to it touching the car body and bumper, (plus possible need for it to coke up a bit)

I'm interested to hear someone else has the same problems.

I had problems with the fitment of mine for the first couple of months (melty bumber etc)..no where seemed to be able to fit it right. It pissed me off so much I drove to blueflame and they sorted it all out.

It is a loud system and to be honest i didn't notice it quieting down too much...

here's a brief clip of mine in car

What did they do to fit it properly? I'm told my downpipe basically isn't exactly the right shape to line up with the tunnel.. and the rest of the exhaust is 1" too long. Like you, i'd have to do a 3 hour drive to manchester to get them to fix it, I'm hoping my local place can do it.

When i first watched your video, months ago, I assumed the distortion was an issue with your camera ;-) Now I own one, I feel the same pressure levels on my HEAD when i'm in the car!

I don't know what blueflame did differently, but as they said all the other garages who looked at it must have been monkeys I doubt it was anything too technical.

I even fitted a VT front engine mount to try and stop the exhaust movement but that didn't work either so just went for a long drive to liverpool lol and got it sorted.

It still not perfect though, i changed the centre exhaust mount to a powerflew one and that help the system sit centrally and got rid of 90% of any knocking, but now the heat shield vibrates until its warmed up. Once hot tho, I get zero problems

that video clip is only a couple of days old, and the sound quality is pretty pants but it does give an idea of the loudness! It does sound menacing tho :)

here's one at town speeds:

Where abouts have you been taking it Rich? I had a fair few problems with my miltek when i first got it had it back to the garage a couple of times and they couldnt do anything with it. In the end i spent a few hours doing it myself.

If its to long you could proberly just undo the clamps and move the system forward so your hangers are facing the frot of the car?

Jesus just watched the clip, That is certinatly louder than the miltek. My mate had a cat back system his CTR and that was very loud

My BF full system is wicked !!

Had a few niggles with fitment to start with but my local garage soon sorted that out...

It's loud - but that's what a performance exhaust is meant to sound like !?

Highly recommended exhaust

I've got Storm Developments in Aldermaston sorting it, i'm certain they'll get it sorted Monday. Or soon after. ;-) I'm growing to love it actually - it's just a TINY bit hectic around 3k.. but like someone here has said, it's a full performance system!

I don't really get what you mean about moving the hangers - i've had a fairly good look and they're at full tilt (towards the back of the car) as it is slightly too long, this brings the exhaust up higher.

Fair play to the folks that fitted it, it's a good first attempt, it doesn't knock or bang, it's just slowly melting my bumper ;-)

Im sure storm will sort it for you, they seem a good bunch up there.

I undone the clamps on my miltek and moved the system forward, sliding the exhaust pipes further into each other so it ended up with the rear hangers pointing forwards towards the engine, this will also give you more clearance over the rear beam.

Hope that makes sense.

Glad I'm not the only one with exhaust knocking problems. Taken my Milltek back to the garage that fitted it twice already to get it sorted and it's gotta go back again next month as they still haven't sorted it properly...
