I wasn’t going to document this one, quite a small detail, but, I do like the car, so, it’d of been rude not too!

I last saw this car August 2008. Then, it wore Chemical Guys’ Wet Mirror Finish and a couple of coats of Collinite 476s. The car was still in pretty good shape; unsure if it’s had any other work since, but, it cleaned up well enough anyway.

As I say, not a lot of detail on this report, I do apologise.

So. On arrival, the car looked like this..

Roof cleaned with a selection of brushes and 303’s convertible hood cleaner (later protected with Fabric Guard once dry)

Alloys cleaned with G101 and tyres/arches scrubbed with Super-Degreaser.

Ran around and did the shuts/sill – which weren’t too bad.

Foamed with ValetPRO snowfoam. Rinsed. Washed with Megs lambswool mitt and Dodo Juice Born To Be Mild.

AutoSmart Tardis used to dissolve tar deposits and these splash marks that wouldn’t shift with the wash:

(Looked like creosote?)

Sonus Green Clay bar used to lift any embedded contaminants. Pick up was quite ‘healthy’.. Left a clean surface ready to be cleansed.

After rinsing the lube residues from the claying stage, I sheeted the body-panels with water to aid the drying stage:

Wheels and shuts dried before moving into the garage:

Jeffs Werkstat Acrylic PRIME applied by Porter Cable 7424 and a Meguiars yellow polishing pad.

In working round, I noticed a few areas had faint sanding marks from previous bodyshop work:

Prime complete and Jett Trigger goes down to protect.

Second application followed some 40 minutes later.

In the meantime, the roof was protected with 303 Fabric Guard

And then I moved on to the interior..

LTT Auto Ultra Foam used to clean the leather.

Paper-towel that I used to remove the residues shows signs of dirt lifted (having only cleaned the upper sections of the passenger seat)

And then similar pick-up on the driver’s side:

Love this cleaner now.. Very easy to work with.

Following the leather clean, Auto Ultra Protect (water-based) was applied to act as a protective barrier which helps in the removal of everyday soiling.

Plastics and doorcards treated where applicable, and, fini..

Chemical Guys JeatSEAL109 used to seal the wheels. Buffed off after twenty minutes.. Meanwhile, I worked the exhaust tips (quite stubborn on the very edge..) with autosol.

Windows polished with AutoSmart Silver Screen and, tyres dressed with New Look Trim Gel.

The rain had stopped (was drenched all morning…) so I nipped outside with the roof down for some cheeky after photos.
