Just follow the video in his description and its really simple. There is a page in Russian but all it says is to compress the struts a couple of times by hand before fitting them. :)

I notice the golf r has a single strut. Does the Leon require 2 or any peeps using a single unit?

I found with Aftermarket struts you need 2 because of the location they are mounted. I tried with one and wouldn't hold.

I seen two Russian guys fitting them on YouTube. Was gonna go for it as my girlfriend had gas struts on a ten year old Astra and this annoyed me intensely. The more I thought about it though it seemed like a bit a mod for mods sake. The single support works fine and is less to get in your way. Plus as soon as I seem you need to cut into the foam padding near the bonnet hinges I was put off drastically.

Unless marked as a gift it will be, you won't pay customs duty as it's below £120 or there abouts, you'll only pay VAT, so £11.40, £68.40 in total.

As I don't really intend on opening my bonnet unless I am putting in washer fluid, or an oil change once a year, I think I'll keep it as standard. Nice convenience mod but it's only convenient if you're using it often I guess??

The Russians do everything! I've seen they are retrofitting facotry options to the Leon, ACC, SEAT Sound, reverse camera, convenience pack etc etc.

Would love to see more of this in the UK though

In two minds to bother or not. Annoys me that a peugeot from 1999 I had had these from factory.

But as some of you say why are they needed, although why did any car manufacturers ever fit them!

If it was less money i'd jump at it. Must be able to source the struts in the UK, brackets i can easy make.

There is a guy in Germany who retrofits pretty much anything electronic to Leons/VAG cars, at a cost.

Got any more details about this guy? I'd love ACC in the car! I can get loom but radar seems a bit hard to find, and then fitting seems easy enough but calibration could be a pitfall
