Hi everyone,
Straight to the point, Just bought a Ibiza Cupra, thought it was standard but i raced a mate with a Ibiza cupra running so say 200+bhp an i can keep up with him.

So now im thinkin my car is chipped!? Not sure what though!
My car has a supersprint BB, Some sort of chip!? and K'N filter!

Problem is i've fitted a boost gauge (Auto gauges) cheap i know but it does for now, but on idle im gauge reads -30 Vac sometimes just abit lower :blink: !

When driving it only boosts to 9-10 psi on the gauge :confused: never any higher!
The car feels very smooth and pulls hard all the way through the revs.:think:

And also When cruising on the Motorway @ say 70mph if i dab the throttle the boost drops right off then i have to a a couple of secs for it to start boosting again! Should this happen?? :shrug:

says in your sig, Revo.. thats what the 'chip' is, also, the k03 turbo is small so starts to let boost tail off higher up the rev's, and think most ibiza's if backed off and on the power again you get a little boost spike for a second or so.
 
If it's boosting 9/10psi then it hasn't got any kind of remap.. With a remap it'll boost to around 20psi.., 9psi is standard :)
 
claudefrog: I think its revo but i'll probably have to put it on Vag-com to see if it is that!

Munky: Thats what i thought, i knew standard was around 9/10 psi.
I've driven a standard 156bhp Beeza and mine definatley doesn't feel standard.
If i was standard that means mods are Filter and Backbox but surely i should keep up with a 200+ Beeza!

I've had 135/140+ and still pulling from it the other day no probs
 
ok so now i know its low on psi (possibly gauge)
What about Vac reading being on -30?

Could that be the gauge again?
 
i tried another boost gauge (bar) and it only boost to between 0.5 - 1.0 bar!?
Has anyone got Vag-com in the wiltshire area!?
I don't mind travelin

got mine rigged up properly today (auto gauge) and in 2nd only boosts to 4psi 5 in 3rd and 4th unless ur at low revs then it goes 6! thing is im fairly certain my cars fine so again u think cud be the gauge?
 
Update!!

Mods so far are :

* Scorpion cat back (soon to be full system)
* Forge tip
* FMIC
* Air filter
* Ko3s

Now i was boosting only 8-9 psi when i first got the car and now with these mods the same 8-9 psi.
I know standard power is around there but my car is defo quicker then standard.

I now have the free Vagcom, done a air flow meter log and was only pulling 130g/s max!

Just bought a new air flow meter and still only boosting to 8-9 psi but im gona try doin some new logs, all hose have been checked.

Now im thinkin maybe i have a cupra R ecu and its not remapped.

What do cupra R boost to? would it be higher as they run more power?

8-9psi and 130g/s max!! Someone help me clear this mess up :cry:

standard cupra should boost to 6/7 psi and the cupra R will boost to 9/10 psi

as said above why are you running a k03s without a proper remap :confused:
 
Mines a standard cupra with standard ecu and autometer gauge t-pieced at fuel pressure regulator, mine reads 10-11psi peak and holds at 9psi? had a debate on this before and is you check my threads you'll see photos on it and a little video clip.

Then a couple more posts later, and you say it has a Ko3s!!?

If it had the Ko3s on when you bought it, then I'd suspect its had a remap.

his first post was a year ago......he then updates the thread to give a list of the mods he has.:whistle:
 
Did you try changing the boost gauge?
On idle mine reads -20vac and on deceleration in gear reads around -24vac
Mine is still currently boosting to 10psi after my remap (still tracing faults) and it doesn't feel that much different to before the map when it was standard boosting at 8psi).
