Boost pressure??

After hours of searching i have not found any relevant answers to my question so here it is; i have a 01 cupra with a forge 007 dv and new MAF everything else standard, i have put a boost gauge on and when idling it reads -20/30 when maintaining speed it reads anywhere from -20 to 0, some times i get no boost in first or second but up to 11psi in all gears up to 6th when accelerating hard but not always, with gentle acceleration the boost will only go to 0 may be 2psi, is this right?

That's definitely not right. If the car feels fine to drive, you probably have a knackered boost gauge. Or a problem with the installation.

What guage is it?
when idling it shoould be around -6 to -8.
when ona full trottle it should be showing 0.5 bar standard

On idle mine shows about -20 psi i think

Hi all and thanks, yes Rob the car feels fine to drive in fact i have just returned from the south of france so i have been watching the gauge for a while,Big lad the gauge is a second hand budget one and in psi so i dont know what 0.5 bar is, i have just orderd a new mid range one again in psi. i have gone over all the joins and all are tight, any idea what the standard boost is on the LC.

well 0.5 bar = 7.25 psi

Oh ok, thanks, i will see how the next gauge is, just had a thought could it be the N75 valve.
