105 Not 150 :d

yes I thought about that,,, but you were committing two errors at once since the mk2 leon has no 1.9 150hp engine in it,,, just 1.9 105 and 2.0 140,,, I couldn't let you go away with that,,, :p
Sorry mate but read my message again, I sait 105 NOT 150 :D Anyway no problem, we all have our bad days sometimes :) So who's giving me some pointers on what could I tune on my LEON 'cose I haven't the slitest clue :help:

errrrrrrrrr,,, I was replying to timbotdi's previous post [post #40],,, so maybe it wasn't my bad day after all,,, :p

mate there's a ton of threads on here about tuning a tdi,,, use the search and you'll get more info than you can read,,,

basically, you can start with a remap and get about 145hp from your car. You can stay happy with that [just for a while mind you] or then you can go on and get a bigger turbo, bigger intercooler, free flow exhaust, stronger clutch, bigger injectors, propane, nos, limited slip differential, etc. etc. etc. not all these mods are for power, some are needed cos of bigger power given by other components,,, you'll need a different map everytime you change something to take account for it,,,

now you know what to search for,,, :D

Tuning 2006 Leon 1.9tdi

Thanks alot mate,

One other thing... some dude I know made his 2004 Leon all wheel drive (took it from a Golf), what you mates think about that?! Can that be done on a 2006 Leon? Say from a Golf V or an A3 ?
And how would this be for the performace of the car?
Is this something that would help performance or was just some craized idea of the dude?
(just a thought)

Sell and buy another it's easy BUT does SEAT makes a 4-wheel drive LEON ?
The dealer where I got mine said there's no 4wheel drive LEON so that's why I was surprised to see this guy's 4x4 LEON and I had to ask him about it. :D

Imho it would be easier to sell the car and buy one that's born with 4wd,,, too much hassle involved in such a thing,,,

seat did the mk1 leon with the TT4 system [same as audi's quattro and vw's 4motion] with the 1.9 150hp engine. as for now, I don't think they do a leon with 4x4 drive,,, but being the car basically the same as the mk2 a3 and mk5 golf I guess that in the future there will be a 4x4 leon since there's the S3 and the R32 that both have 4x4,,, a conversion can surely be possible, but as said, it would be easier to buy a car born as a 4x4.

Got a re-map :p Around 140bhp. I'll dyno it this week.

The car is so fun to drive now! It just keeps on pulling in every gear. No problems so far. [B)]

my boost spikes at 26 psi, runs normal at 20 psi and my turbo still works fine. mines a 130 btw

does having a boost guage effect the car in anyway?as i have one waiting to be fitted but my cars engine is standard its the leon 130se so what boost will that run?around1 bar??

A boost gauge do not effect the running of the car in anyway.
You will need a 2 bar boost gauge as standard boost is about 1.4-1.5 bar on the 130 model.

oh really?i only got the 1 bar as i did not know the boost was that high ok many thanks

It should be OK Danny, unless you're planning on serious mods. I would consistently bend the needle on that gauge. :) I needed a 2.5 bar one, and I'm not sure if I put a pic up earlier in this thread? EDIT: I did - check out post #2. ;)

Fitting a gauge does not affect the car. The only slightl change is you'll be filling up a tiny amount more air with boost pressure as you need to fill the cable to the gauge. In the grand scheme of things though, it's such a tiny %% of the total air pushed, it's totally insignificant. I have a pipe coming off my turbo pipework and it's got two tee offs, going to switches for lpg and nos, as well as going to the gauge. No worries at all from me. :)

No major mods other than a remap planned just yet Devo, car is still under warranty and if anything goes wrong, it needs to be returned to standard as easily as possible. Maybe a year or 2 down the line might I think about a bigger turbo/nos/propane but I'm not even looking in to that at the moment!

Any ideas what a 150 will boost to after a remap?

just poking my nose in seat do a 4by4 normally only import but there a 3.2 v6 same as r32 there was one on auto trader the other week why does the turbo spike??also any one got any issues or advice with a diesel dump valve??do they sound good??

just poking my nose in

1) seat do a 4by4 normally only import but there a 3.2 v6 same as r32 there was one on auto trader the other week

2) why does the turbo spike??

3) also any one got any issues or advice with a diesel dump valve??

4) do they sound good??

I've split that down into the various questions so I can answer each bit.

1) Not sure on 4 x 4 thing. as far as I know there isn't one.

2) It's just something which happens on spool up. It can spool up a little too far and it momentarily spikes high up before it realises it's only being requested to do XX psi, so settles down again quick

3) Don't do it. Worth a search. highly disliked mod on TDIs

4) This form has a swear filter doesn't it? Stops me answering then. :D :censored:

seat did the 1.9 150 mk1 leon with the TT4 system which is the same as the audi quattro and the volkswagen 4motion systems.

IIRC they did also the 2.8 petrol mk2 toledo [and possibly leon] with the TT4.

I had the chance to drive the TT4 leon on track and it was pretty good grip-wise.
