boot wont shut

just bought a x reg ibiza earlier on , got home and popped the boot open , went to shut it and it wouldnt close , after banging it about 29 times it eventually shut , anyone had this problem

its not the lock as well as the lock is functioning ,

got it as my daily driver , p1 is only used on weekends really due to it being so juicy on petrol

the striker plate most probably needs adjusting.. if the 'lock mechanisn' is not loose..try the part it locks on/into (bit on the main body of the car.. mine was always doing this when I first got the smashed boot opened....
big Tor-X driver or a flat bladed screw driver will tighten it

I remember seeing a yellow one on piston heads with low mileage but white alloys, plus that black one with the strange bodykit on

same prob on my mk2 , just release the screws/allen bolts on the pin as brummy said , it will move , pull it slightly toward you and tighten up . job done .

yeah thats the one , putting it back to standard as the back bumper looks **** IMO , got it for £5000 in the end

the pictures dont do the car justice , the arch extensions look quite good on the car , the front bumper looks good as well , looks like a rs4 bumper , lines up like the oe bumper as well , might just end up ripping it all of though , and put it totally back to standard body work wise
