Hi, im getting my bumpers colour coded and i want to cut the sections out of the front bumper like ive seen a few poeple do to there 1.4s i was just wondering whats the best way to do this? does it look a mess? would it have to be filled? how much is it to just buy the cupra section and doe sit fit the 1.4 bumper?

Thanks

Yea ive just got the 1.4 standard bumper can it just be cut out? or is it better to just buy a cupra one?

Thanks

Cut it out mate. Hot knife makes the job easy as anything. If your colour code it yourself, get some filler primer from halfrauds, coat, sand, coat, sand, paint, sand with 1200 grit (correct me if I'm wrong) another coat and primer. A bit long, but you can take that section off the car, so it's not too bad...

The car looks bare without it though :(

Cheers mate il be doing the cutting but not the spraying so il pass on what i need doing to him.

I think il put some dark mesh behind there when its sprayed up ive seen some on ebay that matches the cupra grille.

Do't cut it out... The three bars go into a section and one cut out you have three grooves each side of the vent's... Experienced the hard way trust me...

ive got the same problem as you dono whether to do this to the standard bumper or go cupra

what i was thinkin was try it cuttin the standard bumper then if i don't like it or goes pear shape then i just fork out for a cupra bumper :p

sorta win win situation [B)]

I guess. I've done quite a bit to my front bumper, so it looks kind of like a cupra bumper, but at the same time not. Just do what you think looks good, your not going to be criticised on here for using your initiative. :)

Cheers guys il have a go later today as ive just got my cupra sideskirts back from the shop and need it spraying now as it will look odd lol.

Does everyon just take the rear bumper off to get that bit sprayed i had a look if it comes off a few times but it was allways in the dark.

Thanks
